Band Biography
Neutral Agreement held its first practice on February 12, 2000 in Matthew Jenkins bedroom. At that point we didn't have a name or a vocalist. The band consisted of Matt McDowell on guitar, Matt Jenkins on bass, and Mike Billups on drums. About a month later we had another practice. That is when we decided on the name "Neutral Agreement." It stemmed from the fact that the 3 of us couldn't agree on a band name, and for the most part we were all neutral of what the band should be called. So we decided to come to a neutral agreement, hence the name. At that same practice we decided to deem Matt McDowell our official vocalist as well as the guitarist. He has never really been very happen pulling double duty, but things are working out well. Matt McDowell's influences include the majestic style of Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin's passion, and P.O.Ds love for the Lord. Matthew Jenkins influences include Philmore, Dogwood for their intensity, and Fanmail for their flat out catchy music. Mikes influenced by Dave Matthews bands Carter Beauford for his flat out amazing talent, Sublime for just being the best band ever, and the Lord for helping re-dedicate my life. Are sound can't really be defined. We strive to make every song a little different. So if you really want to know what we sound like, just come to a show. We are a "Christian" band in the sense that all of the band members are Christians and attend church. We try to set examples though our lives and our music. We aren't perfect but we do the best we can. If you ever want to talk to any of us about anything, please e-mail us or talk to us at one of our shows. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
